 LGPOA Meeting

The next LGPOA meeting is scheduled for Saturday, November 25th at 2 pm.

After you’re done “garage sale-ing,” stop on in for some island updates. We will meet in the Placida Beach Condos meeting room by the pool and look forward to seeing you there!

 **Island Wide LGPOA Garage Sale!

The Island Wide Garage Sale will be held November 25th (the Saturday after Thanksgiving) from 9am to 1pm.  Two houses are participating to date. Does anyone else have some treasures to share?

Anyone can have a sale, just email us your house number and any items you’d like listed or featured. (Submit by November 15th please.)  You can recycle your unwanted items to someone that can use them and make some money for yourself at the same time!  It’s easier then hauling the items off the island, right?  We will put a sign on the main sand path advertising your house number to make it easy to find.

Anyone can go to the sales as well! We will email the list of garage sales and items to POA members the week before. They will also be posted on the island bulletin boards for everyone to see.

We hope to see you on the 25th of November. Please contact us with information regarding your sale and any questions at twrhonda@gmail.com.

**Irma Update

From LGPOA President, Richard Leydon:                                                                                                               Island contractors donated hours of time to clear our roads and allow access for FPL. The Island Clean Up focused on cleaning debris off the beach from the storm. Unfortunately, we have a long way to go.  The LGPOA continues to work with the county and other organizations to facilitate the removal of debris from the beach and in the dunes. We will update members as soon as we have definite answers.

Currently there is no information available from our island weather stations on the LGPOA website because both of them are down temporarily.

**Placida Fishery Update

From LGPOA President, Richard Leydon:

A public meeting was held Wednesday October 18th. Terrie Weibley and I attended representing the LGPOA.  There was a description of the project, discussion of the conceptual drawings and questions were answered.

Most people were expressing concerns relative to the height of the buildings.  They responded that for every square foot of space above the usual height restriction they have to create an open space on the site.

The next meeting for concerns and questions will be before the planning and zoning board in December.  The plan is to present the project to the County Commissioners in January.

**International Coastal Cleanup

Success! See our HERO page here: https://lgpoa.org/home/coastal-clean-up-hero-pics-2017/

Record numbers of people turned out to help remove debris from our beaches.  So many fresh faces, you know who you are!  If you didn’t receive a shirt the day of the event they are at LGI Carts, feel free to pick them up during business hours.

So refreshing to see people donate their time and resources to move the debris from the beach to the boats and from the boats to the dumpster at Eldred’s. If you see Suzanne, Sam or Andy, please be sure to thank them for letting us keep the dumpster there for all of our island clean ups.

Several people deserve special thanks for going above and beyond, again, you know who you are!

**Little Gasparilla Island Fire and Rescue (LGIFR) (The LGPOA is not affiliated with the LGIFR, we just want to keep you up to date on all island activities.)
