The LGPOA Board would like to acknowledge outgoing Deputy John Stewart, who will be retiring from the Charlotte County Police Department on December 30th of this year. John mentioned that he intends to spend some time in Long Island working at a family member’s Harley Davidson location. During the winter season he plans on fishing the nearby waters of Little Gasparilla Island. We couldn’t be more pleased to hear that John has been training his replacement, Deputy Edward Trentacosta, another Long Islander.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to John, who became part of our island community. He provided oversight with a friendly, hands off approach and will be sorely missed.
We’ve invited both John and Edward to the LGPOA meeting on the 7th of January.
