Coastal Clean Up – Sept 21, 2013

We need volunteers to help with picking up trash from the island and boats to help transport it to the special dumpster at Eldred’s Marina. The dumpster will be at the end of the point (right at the entry to the marina channel on the right/south side). The Clean-Up is from 8:00a.m.-12:00 noon Saturday, 9/21/13. Here is the link to the details: http://keepcharlottebeautiful.org/coastalcleanupinfo.html

If you can help with the clean-up, please contact Holly Haynes at 941-270-2479 or via email: rentals@tarponrealty.com. There are T-shirts available for those that participate but you have to let Holly know soon as they run out. We are signed up as the LGI POA so don’t have to sign up individually on the website. Please help if you can!

For year round disposal of waste items, the County operates a Mini Transfer Station at 7070 Environmental Way (behind Home Depot). You will need to bring proof of County Residency. A valid Driver’s License, Utility Bill or Tax Bill will be accepted. A P.O. Box address will not be accepted. On the website there is a map to the facility, policies and what is allowed and what is not. This is a great way to get rid of items year round. http://www.charlottecountyfl.com/PublicWorks/solidwaste/minitransfer.asp
